I hope everyone is enjoying their summer – I got to see something really special this episode: a young Brown-headed Cowbird being fed by a Song Sparrow! It’s been hanging around my feeders and seems to be doing quite well. We’ve been getting a few questions about Trichomoniasis, so David took some time to give us a breakdown of what it is, and how it can affect your backyard friends. To follow up what he says, on Backyard Feeding this week I show you how to properly clean your feeders. On Dr. Bird’s regular segment, he answers a question about some suspiciously overstuffed Bluebird nest boxes. In the headlines this week, Poland is still logging one of Europe’s oldest forests despite the EU asking them to stop, scientists have discovered that birds are adapting well to new Palm plantations in Papua New Guinea, Japanese Tits use grammar when they sing to each other, and if you are looking for a way to keep the tick population down, the Bobwhite Quail is the bird for you. Nothing but cuteness on Winner’s Circle this month, but we haven’t been able to get in touch with one of the winners. If you are this month’s winner, please email me at tatsiana@bromebirdcare.com or give us a call on 1-800-856-5685.

Have a fantastic week!
